HORIZON-JU-CLEANH2-2025-03-01: Start-up spagnola specializzata in idrogeno verde è alla ricerca di un consorzio per partecipare alla call di Clean Hydrogen Partnership

In the rapidly evolving domain of renewable energy, a groundbreaking project by an innovative team seeks to address the pivotal challenge of green hydrogen storage, distribution, and supply. The technology offered by the company is set within the broader context of the Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, specifically within the HORIZON-JU-CLEANH2-2025 Call, which aims to address key challenges in the transition to sustainable energy and the adoption of hydrogen as a fundamental solution to reducing carbon emissions.

This company focuses on testing an innovative green hydrogen storage, supply and consumption technology in niches where batteries do not offer a scalable solution: urban mobility, logistics environments (ports and airports), maintenance vehicles, and other Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM). The specific topic of the call to be addressed is the following: Configurable Fuel Cell Powertrain for Non-Road Mobile Machinery.

Currently, we are developing a hybrid fuel cell system for a logistics vehicle and a refrigerated container semi-trailer, with the expected outcome of reaching TRL 7. Funded by the “Innovación Ciudad de Valencia” program, the previous project seeks to implement a green hydrogen plan for sustainable mobility and logistics in Valencia, contributing to emissions reduction. Fundación ValenciaPort selected our company through its OpenTop program as the best startup for carbon neutrality goals in 2030.

In this topic (HORIZON-JU-CLEANH2-2025-03-01), we plan the development of plug-and-play pressurized hydrogen capsules. These capsules are designed to revolutionize the current hydrogen supply chain by offering a rapid supply, as well as a scalable, efficient, and cost-effective solution for hydrogen storage and last-mile distribution. The initiative not only promises to enhance the viability of green hydrogen as a key player in the energy sector but also paves the way for its widespread adoption across various industries.

This call is included in the Horizon Europe Programme (2021-2027), which provides the ideal framework for driving innovation, supporting the development and deployment of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, and fostering collaboration across European industries to achieve a sustainable, green transition. By leveraging the programme’s support, the project aims to increase the adoption of hydrogen and fuel cell technology in powering NRMM, validating safe and efficient hydrogen fuel cell solutions, and building a European supply chain for fuel cell components.

We are seeking companies interested in forming a consortium, where we can offer our expertise in the development of hydrogen storage, distribution, and supply systems, as well as powertrain systems. The consortium for this call and topic should include at least one NRMM manufacturer, a research institution, and a Fuel Cell System integrator. Strong background in material science, engineering, and market deployment strategies will be appreciated, with proven knowledge in hydrogen fuel cell systems, including fuel cell modules, energy management systems, power electronics, cooling systems, and hydrogen storage solutions.

With the official call deadline of 23 April 2025 and a project duration yet to be defined, the team invites expressions of interest from potential partners ready to contribute to and benefit from this innovative endeavor.
