Datamellon Expands into East Africa, Calls for AI Adoption at AI Innovation Summit
With integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into operations, business leaders can achieve efficiency, innovation, and sustainable growth. This was the core message at the AI Innovation Summit organized by Datamellon, the world’s leading innovator in AI, data, and cloud. This also marked Datamellon’s official entry into the East African market, which emphasized accelerating Kenya’s technology ecosystem with advanced solutions.
As AI and cloud technologies continue to redefine business processes globally, the Summit allowed leaders and innovators to deliberate on the challenges and opportunities AI presents. The speakers encouraged organizations to strategize through AI facilities, which would ensure their competitiveness amid the swiftly changing digital economy.
Datemellon CEO Adewele Adedeji asserted the significance of continual innovation in today’s dynamic business environment.
“We live in a world where change is the only constant. To navigate this dynamic business environment, the key is innovation. AI gives us the tools to adapt and thrive,” she said. “Kenya has made itself a very thriving tech hub, booming startup ecosystem, and enterprises eager to scale up through innovation-as AI and cloud are on the rise, businesses look for trusted partners to take them through their digital transformation journey,” Adedeji concluded. “Africa, therefore, has very unique opportunities to leverage AI for economic growth.”
The need to accelerate AI adoption in Kenya by business leaders through strategic initiatives such as policy advocacy, employee training, and a strong data-driven culture was emphasized by Geoffery Gitagia (GG), CIO of Avenue Healthcare Limited.
“Ideally, structured advocacy plans should be put in place for introducing AI with business efficiency and process optimization in mind. Further, data culture is critical because investment in data should be for more than compliance purposes but to gain insights that inform decision-making,” he observed.
Without embedding artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies into a new business model reinvention, newly released PwC 28th Annual Global CEO Survey: Sub-Saharan Africa Perspective indicated that 23% of CEOs would integrate large scale AI into their organizations, while only 9% will adopt AI at very large scale, leaving upskilling and workforce development in urgent need.
Just as the world races to develop infrastructure and services to support AI, so also are businesses encouraged to take early advantage of the technology being touted for developing and internationalizing African businesses. The AI Innovation Summit reaffirmed that technology will shape the future of business and will best realize its full potential through collaboration among enterprises and AI solutions providers.
