H2Terminals to Supply Green Hydrogen to London via Pipeline
H2Terminals Limited and Cadent have signed a memorandum of understanding to supply green hydrogen to industrial end-users in London via the East London Hydrogen Pipeline . The agreement is a significant milestone for the Capital Hydrogen project to develop hydrogen infrastructure in London and the Thames Estuary region. Under the agreement, H2Terminals will supply the hydrogen that has been generated in its North Sea Energy Island production facility located in the 56th Quadrant. The plant will use wind, waves, and sunshine to produce green hydrogen. It will be liquefied and transported on exclusive ships to terminals at Thames Estuary before being supplied by Cadent pipeline. "This partnership with Cadent is a milestone for green hydrogen infrastructure in London," said Gerry Wilkinson, H2Terminals CEO. "By combining H2Terminals’ best-in-class production capacity with Cadent’s leading network capability and their new 100% hydrogen pipeline, we’re not just offering cost-competitive hydrogen solutions – we’re propelling the industrial revolution needed to meet climate change." Kelly Manders, East London Pipeline Project Manager, said H2Terminals joins a growing number of producers supporting the project. "Their commitment, along with others, to supply green hydrogen through our network will create a compelling and unstoppable movement," Manders said. "Together, we’re building the foundation for a zero-carbon industrial revolution in East London." Kate Willard OBE, Thames Estuary Envoy and Chair, called the Thames Estuary a focal point for hydrogen innovation, with the East London Pipeline a crucial part of the transformation. "The Growth Board has been delighted to work on this partnership, bringing together investment, infrastructure, and industrial demand," Willard said. "It’s fantastic to see this now coming to fruition, setting a new standard for decarbonisation, economic growth, and sustainable jobs in the region." The East London Hydrogen Pipeline, slated to be operational by 2030, will connect hydrogen production sites near Tilbury
