New York Embroidery Studio (NYES) is expanding its production capacities by using the Stratasys J850 TechStyle 3D printer. With this technology, the company is integrating direct-to-textile printing into its production processes, combining traditional embroidery with additive manufacturing. The aim is to create new possibilities for design and customization while reducing material waste.

“The J850 TechStyle is an exceptional addition to our capabilities, allowing us to elevate our creativity while honoring our commitment to innovation and sustainability,” said Michelle Feinberg, Owner and Creative Director of NYES. “Our clients are excited about the possibilities this technology opens up – from high-end fashion to VIP and entertainment projects. By combining the precision of 3D printing with our expertise in embroidery, we can push boundaries like never before.”

NYES is based in New York’s Garment District and works with renowned designers and brands on bespoke projects, including exclusive collections for major fashion events. The introduction of the J850 TechStyle enables the studio to print complex, three-dimensional surface textures directly onto fabrics. Different colors and materials are processed in a single operation. This facilitates the production of tactile patterns that could previously only be realized using complex manual processes. At the same time, production times can be shortened and excess stock can be avoided.

“Stratasys is setting new standards in the fashion and design industry by offering solutions that combine customization, creativity and sustainability,” said Zehavit Reisin, Senior Vice President of Consumer Solutions and Material Business at Stratasys. “This collaboration demonstrates how innovative technologies can transform global design projects and enable studios like NYES to set new standards in the industry.”

Stratasys sees the collaboration with NYES as a further step towards establishing additive manufacturing in the fashion industry. The technology enables more sustainable production, as less material waste is generated and designs can be implemented directly when needed without having to rely on large stocks. NYES plans to share its experience with 3D printing through events and open studios to give designers an insight into the possibilities of digital textile printing.
