INSEE Cement recognised for sustainability leadership at Green Building Awards

INSEE Cement has been honoured at the 13th Annual Green Building Awards, hosted by the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka, for its contributions to sustainability and innovation in the construction sector.

A key highlight was the recertification of its flagship product, INSEE Sanstha Portland Composite Cement, as a Green Labelled Product. For the first time, it achieved a five-star rating, making INSEE the first cement manufacturer in Sri Lanka to receive this distinction. The recognition was supported by its Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) certification, which aligns with the ISO 14025 standard.

CEO and chairman, Nandana Ekanayaka, stated: “We are proud to be the first cement company in Sri Lanka to receive the 5-Star Green Label Certification for INSEE Sanstha Portland Composite Cement. This recognition is a testament to our team’s tireless dedication to creating eco-friendly, sustainable solutions for the construction industry.”

INSEE Cement emphasised that these awards reaffirm its commitment to environmental responsibility and its role as a pioneer in sustainable construction.
